Provide a forum enabling families to give each other support, encouragement and information.
Provide families with a channel through which to express their concerns and ideas.
Serve in an advisory capacity, sharing information with staff and administration through the appointed liaison.
Sponsor activities which will improve the residents’ quality of life.
Organize and sponsor education and information opportunities for families to learn about various topics.
Advocate locally and provincially for the improvement of quality of life for the residents.
Council members are family members who volunteer to advocate for the residents who live in one of our five home areas. Family Council has ten members as well as a Shalom Manor staff liaison.
As family council we organize two social events yearly as well as several educational sessions throughout the year. Annually, in December we look forward to decorating each home area.
